Adding a touch of color to the vast greenery that is VERTIS NORTH RAIN GARDEN was not only for the aesthetic, but also for a really good cause.
There’s something about being one with nature that helps you feel at ease; keeps you calm. That’s why it’s vital for one of Ayala Land’s prestigious developments, Vertis North, to have this vast green space to cater to its residents and visitors. Vertis North Rain Garden is a 2-hectare park which is a convergence zone and a rainwater catchment basin at the Vertis North estate. Right in the middle of the busy Quezon City, it’s refreshing to have a place like the Vertis North Rain Garden to allow you to take a minute from your hectic schedule to savor the tranquility that a park can provide. To add to the existing appeal of the Vertis North Rain Garden, Vertis North had a fun and meaningful activity last July 10-11, 2021.
Paint It Forward is the flagship CSR program of Vertis North for 2021. This campaign finds the intersections between public art and corporate social responsibility to respond to the pandemic’s challenges using innovative digital marketing and community engagement strategies. Vertis North and Climb Against Cancer partnered to come up with this event of having community volunteers to work on colorful murals displayed in the Vertis North Rain Garden for a good cause. The activity allowed the public to take part in an activity without worries as it was in an open area where social distancing and other health protocols was not a hindrance at all.
Climb Against Cancer is a volunteer-oriented group which consists of mostly mountaineers all over the Philippines. “The project was commissioned for me to paint murals at Vertis North Rain Garden,” says Climb Against Cancer founder Nini Andrada – Sacro. Since she doesn’t like painting alone, she suggested to share the activity with the community and involve as many volunteers to paint and the fee that she was supposed to get, went to the organization’s Climb Against Cancer Munting Kusina instead. Climb Against Cancer Munting Kusina is a community kitchen wherein the organization cooks and delivers warm meals to medical frontliners and street dwellers. This campaign of Vertis North Rain Garden alone produced 1,400 meals for low to no-income families and frontliners from four hospitals including the Philippine Heart Center.
Look forward to future activities to be held at the Vertis North Rain Garden.
